Anfernee Simons sprained his ankle and was forced to leave the match at the very end of the third quarter.
With the last possession of the quarter and the ball in his hands, Simons drove to the basket with seconds to go. With 11 seconds left, the guard shot a floater and landed on Kyle Kuzma's foot.
Immediately after the episode, Simons went down in pain and wasn't able to continue the match anymore. He was helped to the locker by the team's medical staff.
The Trail Blazers later announced that it was a right ankle injury and Simons would not return to the court.
The 23-year-old guard is set to participate in the All-Star Three-Point Contest this upcoming weekend. If Simons cannot compete, the league will have to find an alternative option.
