At the start of the second quarter, Giannis Antetokounmpo was defending against Chicago Bulls guard Coby White. When White drove to the basket, the Greek Freak attempted to block his shot.
Moments after, the Bucks superstar fell on the floor, grabbing his right wrist. Giannis was ruled out with a right wrist sprain and did not return to the game.
"I think the initial reports were hopeful. The x-ray was clean. And he's got a sprain. I think we’ll see how he feels tomorrow, see how he feels the next few days, and continue to evaluate it," head coach Mike Budenholzer said after the game.
Antetokounmpo is scheduled to appear in his 7th All-Star Game this upcoming weekend. The injury makes his chances of playing in the exhibition match questionable.
The Bucks play their next game on February 24th against the Miami Heat.
