"It was a lot of ups and downs but I loved the grind. Everybody in Brooklyn loved the grind too so I built a family over there. They will always be a part of my journey," he told.
"I love those guys, I get emotional talking about it because those were special four years in my career, coming off Achilles [injury] and they helped me through a lot," KD explained. "I don't have anything [bad to tell]. It was terrible how some stuff went down but at the end of the day, I loved the grind. We all loved the grind there in Brooklyn and I wish them the best going forward, they have a bright future."
The Brooklyn Nets project was initially centered around the superstar trio of Kyrie Irving, Durant, and James Harden. All three stars played just 16 games together, winning 13 of them.
"We just didn't get on the court enough. When you see James, Kyrie, and myself, it was amazing basketball for 17 games though," Durant joked. "In order for you to win a championship and be a great team, you just need more time on the floor."
"It's another story why we didn't get on the floor together but we just didn't get enough time on the floor," the superstar said. "These are Hall of Fame players that I learned a lot from every day and I wish them the best as well. It just didn't work out."
