The Roca Team stumbled against EuroCup squad JL Bourg 102-92 on Friday afternoon.

Monaco's big man Chima Moneke could not hide his disappointment after the painful loss.

"It's very disappointing," he admitted to BeBasket. "[To concede] 102 points in the European game is embarrassing. We have to play with more pride defensively.

If we lost, it's only our fault. We didn't defend enough, we missed lay-ups, free throws, and we did really stupid things," added the player who had 13 points and 7 rebounds in 28 minutes.

"This is unacceptable," Moneke also pointed out. "To lose by ten points when we were leading with two minutes remaining, it's a lack of discipline on our side. But we didn't deserve to win anyway."

EuroLeague team's head coach Sasa Obradovic had the same approach to the surprising defeat.

"The better team advances to the semifinals. And why were they better? That's the question. You said we were too strong for this tournament but you can see that we weren't. This team must fight 100% for everything, and we didn't do it from the first possession. Everyone must take their responsibilities, me first," Obradovic commented post-game.

"We reacted badly to certain frustrating situations. We must not overreact to refereeing problems. The referees made mistakes on both sides but where was our concentration?! On the whistles or on the next action? EuroLeague playoffs contender conceded 100 points, it's far too much…

"We were perhaps at the limit of our physical and mental fatigue. We need to analyze what happened and move on. But today was unacceptable," he concluded.

The winning side JL Bourg is scheduled to meet Dijon on Saturday (at 18:30 CET) in the semifinals stage.
