The tension started at the start of the second quarter when Zvezda head coach Dusko Ivanovic received two consecutive technical fouls and was ejected from the game.
Red Star was down by 10 points at halftime and when Zvezda started to turn things around in the second half, the clashes between the fans intensified. Various objects were thrown onto the court, as match referees left the court at the beginning of the fourth quarter.
