While we're heading into March, EuroLeague teams start to plan with more intensity for next season to get ahead of the competition. French EuroLeague side AS Monaco are no stranger to this strategy, and they're already planning several moves.

The principality club has set its eyes on French big man Mouhammadou Jaiteh, multiple sources have told BasketNews. Jaiteh, 28, is on an expiring deal with Virtus Bologna, and his chances of remaining in Bologna next season are considered to be slim, another source told BasketNews.

Monaco look ready to offer a two-year deal to the French big man, a source told BasketNews. This season, Jaiteh is averaging 8.6 points and 5 rebounds per game in EuroLeague with Virtus Bologna.

In the 2021-2022 season, Jaiteh was instrumental in the run that led Virtus Bologna to the EuroCup title, as he was named MVP of the competition.

The chances of a potential deal between Jaiteh and Monaco are considered to be 'relatively high', another source with knowledge of the situation told BasketNews. Walter Fuochi of the Italian newspaper 'La Repubblica' also reported about Monaco's interest in the big man.

However, Monaco aren't watching only Jaiteh in Bologna. The principality team is also keeping their tabs on French swingman Isaia Cordinier, multiple sources have told BasketNews.

Just like Jaiteh, Cordinier is also on an expiring contract with Virtus Bologna after joining the Italian side in 2021. The swingman is averaging 6.6 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game in EuroLeague this season.

The player is currently sidelined with an injury and might miss up to two months of action. Virtus Bologna are interested in extending their partnership with Cordinier, a source told BasketNews. However, the player is expected to receive considerable interest in the EuroLeague market, another source told BasketNews.

As a French player, Cordinier holds additional value for AS Monaco, but the general expectation is that the swingman will have multiple offers on his table during the free agency this summer.

After being drafted by the Atlanta Hawks in the 2016 NBA Draft, Cordinier, who's 26, is currently a free agent at the NBA level after the Brooklyn Nets decided to renounce to his rights in 2021.
