Yesterday, the Admiral visited the Israeli National League (he second-highest league in the country) game between Elizur Netanya and Elizur Ashkelon. His son Justin plays for the Netanya club.
Robinson's son's team won the game 105-101 after overtime. Justin finished the game with 8 points on 3-for-12 shooting and 7 rebounds for 7 PIR.
"It's been fun. These guys, they're playing hard, it's a close game so that's good," David Robinson said during half-time. "We haven't been able to come the past few years so now being able to see him live and see him grow up and be stronger as a man. it's a great time for us."
"You don't ever try to put your own things on your children, you try to let them grow into their own strengths, and watching him become a man has been amazing," the Admiral revealed.
Father Robinson admitted that he sometimes misses playing basketball at a professional level but understands that life has to move on.
"I miss it a little bit. When you're doing something kind of at a high level, there's no way to replace that in your life," he explained. "That was amazing. I got to do some other fun things but basketball was pretty cool."
Justin Robinson is averaging 14.9 points and 8.4 rebounds for 19.7 PIR this season.
With 13 wins and 7 losses, Netanya is currently 6th in the league's standings.
