The National Weather Service reports a tornado warning remains in effect until 10 p.m. for Oklahoma and Cleveland counties. NWS officials said they believe a tornado passed by just their south, in southeast Norman.
One of the tornadoes downed trees and power lines and damaged a home in Liberal, Kan., according to Marc Chenard, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service.
Forecasters said two other tornadoes had been reported in Oklahoma, one near the city of Norman and another in the west-central part of the state.
Wind gusts of 114 miles per hour were recorded in Hall County, Texas, Mr. Chenard said. The Weather Service also reported widespread gusts ranging from 70 to 90 miles per hour in southwest Oklahoma.
