With under 10 minutes left in the third quarter, LaMelo Ball was dribbling the ball while initiating a pick-and-roll with Mark Williams when the star guard suddenly collapsed.
LaMelo left the game and did not return. The x-rays revealed that the guard suffered a fracture in his right ankle.
Prior to the game against the Pistons, Ball had only managed to play 35 games for his team this season out of the possible 62.
Ball averaged 23.3 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 8.4 assists in 35.2 minutes.
With 20 wins and 43 losses, the Hornets hold the fourth-worst record in the league and currently sit in 14th place in the Eastern Conference.
