LeBron James' right foot is expected to be reassessed in two weeks to see how much progress he's made, but the timeline for his return is expected to extend beyond that checkpoint, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Where the Lakers reside in standings by then could impact how soon it makes sense for him to return, via the NBA insider.

James suffered an injury vs. Dallas Mavericks on Sunday.

LeBron scored 26 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in the game against Mavs. Overall, he averages 29.5 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 6.9 assists per game this season.

Several weeks ago, James overtook Kareem Abdul-Jabbar andbecame the NBA's all-time leading scorer.

With 29 wins and 32 losses, the Lakers are currently 12th in the Western Conference standings.
