Last summer, his return to Serbia was brought up again. That's why the former Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade player was asked if he would ever accept an invitation from Partizan. But his answer was firm.
"I think everyone knows the answer. That's how I think right now and [that's how I] probably always will be. They know which camp I'm from, and it's been that way since I was little," he clarified.
"We also know what things are like here. I don't even want to think about that option. Zvezda is the team I would return to if I were to play in Serbia," said Guduric in an interview with TV Una.
Guduric, who will turn 28 in a week (March 8), played two seasons with Zvezda (2015-17) before spending the next couple of campaigns with Fenerbahce. He made two straight EuroLeague Final Fours and the title game in 2018 with the Turkish powerhouse.
On the occasion of the game against Partizan, Guduric pointed out that he had a nice experience working with Zeljko Obradovic at Fenerbahce.
"Everyone who knows me knows my opinion - and it's no secret. He's the best coach of all time in Europe, perhaps in the world. That shows the things he did in his career," the Serbian international pointed out.
After the match in Belgrade, Guduric stayed in his home country to play with Serbia against Great Britain. But before that, he attended the match between Crvena Zvezda and ALBA Berlin, where he was greeted with applause by the fans.
"Everyone knows that I have been a fan of Zvezda since I was a child," he said.
"I grew up there and spent some of the best, if not the best, years of my career. I think it was the first time I attended a Zvezda game without me being a part of it. It was a great welcome. To be honest, I got chills," he stressed.
"Those memories came back. No matter how nice it is for us in Turkey, we will always be foreigners there," Guduric continued. "Over here, we feel at home."
But the versatile player, who's averaging 12.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 13.3 in PIR this season, referred to the stories that have circulated in recent months about his return to Zvezda.
"There was zero truth in that. I've always been on a long-term contract. There was never really a story about it," he commented.
