Ja Morant has been involved in multiple high-profile incidents recently. New details have emerged about one of them.

As reported in January, Morant has been sued for allegedly punching a 17-year-old teenager during a basketball game during the summer in his home in Tennessee. A case was submitted to the Shelby County court in September, suing the Memphis Grizzlies player.
The two are said to have engaged in a heated verbal conflict, after which, police documents say, the 17-year-old threw the ball at Morant, hitting him in the face. Morant then approached him, the plaintiff said, and after some deliberation, hit him "with a closed fist, knocking him to the ground".
Morant's childhood friend Davonte Pack is listed as a defendant as well.
The Washington Post obtained new information about the case. According to police documents, Morant went into his house after the conflict and re-emerged with a gun visible in the waistband of his pants and his hand on the weapon.
"I swung first," the Grizzlies star told the detectives, saying that he acted in self-defense. "The ball was to me the first hit."
The player told police that the teenager shouted, "I’m gonna come back and light this place up like fireworks" as he was leaving. Morant filed a lawsuit against him later but it was dismissed due to lack of evidence.
The Grizzlies star was recently involved in another incident involving a gun. Morant's long-time friend Devonte Pack was banned from attending Grizzlies home games at the FedExForum for a year after he verbally abused Indiana Pacers players during and after the game. Although the Pacers believed a gun was pointed at them after the game, the NBA denied it in their report.
