Back in July, Morant’s mother got in a dispute with a Finish Line store employee. After the dispute, she called his son. He arrived shortly with as many as nine other people.
The entourage was confronted by the director of mall security. Nevertheless, Morant and his friends refused the security guard’s demands to leave the mall parking lot. When the local police arrived, a verbal confrontation escalated, the Memphis Police report obtained by the Post says.
Sometime later one of the members of Morant's group allegedly pushed the security director in the head.
"As the group was leaving the premises … Ja Morant said, ‘Let me find out what time he gets off'," police write in their report.
The security guard felt threatened and wanted to file a report. No arrests were made and the two parties left the scene. The Grizzlies, NBA, and Morant’s agent did not respond to Molly Hensley-Clancy from The Washington Post, who published the story while the security guard declined to comment.
In the same story, the journalist provided additional information about Morant's incident with a 17-year-old during a basketball game last summer where the star player allegedly punched the teenager and later flashed a gun.
