Officially waived by the Chicago Bulls this Tuesday, the experienced point guard is close to signing with the Milwaukee Bucks. The information came from ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, who also added that the player will visit the franchise Friday, and an agreement could be concluded on the same day.
The Wisconsin franchise's interest in Dragic is not new. Last year, before moving to the Brooklyn Nets, Giannis Antetokounmpo's team had the Slovenian in their sights. The Dallas Mavericks also had Dragic on their radar, as they do today.
The Slovenian guard would arrive in Wisconsin to be a reserve, leading the team's second unit. Without having checked in since February 15, when he felt discomfort in his left knee, Dragic had already lost his place in the Chicago Bulls' rotation with the arrival of Patrick Beverley.
Dragic, 36, might be set to make his Bucks debut this Saturday against the Philadelphia 76ers. Currently having the best record in the NBA (45-17), the Bucks are coming off 16 consecutive victories.
Dragic, a one-time All-Star during his tenure with the Heat, started off strong during his first full month with Chicago this year, averaging 9.3 points, 3.8 assists, and 1.9 rebounds per game, in just 19.2 minutes.
However, lately, his production has declined in a major way. Across his final 10 games with the Bulls, he averaged just 2.6 PPG and 2.4 APG.
