42-year-old Miami Heat veteran Udonis Haslem is set to retire after his final, 20th season in the NBA.

Haslem, a three-time NBA champ, is the 3rd player to play 20 seasons with one team after Dirk Nowitzki and Kobe Bryant. Also, he has become the 10th player to play at least 20 seasons in the league.

"I'm done," Haslem told Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald. "I'm done no matter what happens. I gave my contribution. I think at this stage, there needs to be another voice for these guys. It's time for somebody to step up and be the voice."

He is averaging 0.5 points and 1.3 rebounds over 6 games (7.7 minutes) in 2022-23.

Haslem's final regular-season home game will be on April 9 against the Orlando Magic. Whether Haslem addresses the Miami-Dade Arena crowd during that game is still to be determined.

His number 40 jersey will be retired in near future, as said by Heat President Pat Riley.

"From the first day that I saw him compete, to the last day when we retire his jersey at our home, UD [Udonis Haselm] will go down in our team's history as one of the best to ever play for the Miami Heat," Riley said, per Heat report.
