"Come on, man. That's asinine, silly, and stupid. Pick one word."
"Listen, Joker has won 2 MVPs, well deserved. Him, Giannis, and Embiid are battling for the 3rd one this year. But the notion that people are voting, I mean, you can probably count on one hand the white guys that won MVPs.
Does he even know how many white voters are out there? Or did he just pull it out of his ass? And if white voters want to vote only for white guys, why has the white guy only won it like 5 times in the last 30 years? Wouldn't the numbers be way worse?" Barkley continued.
Barkley also supported JJ Redick for challenging Perkins, saying that he's being racist and creates narratives.
"And let me tell you something, I'm glad JJ challenged Perkins because when I heard this for the first time last week, I said this has to be one of the most stupid things I've ever heard," Barkley concluded.
Perkins' story escalated after Jokic's stat-padding argument. However, later he turned the conversation to JJ Redick directly.
"When I say that and when I come here and ask what is the criteria for the MVP and how the goalpost is moved, I'm asking these questions for a reason," the former player said. "When I look at JJ and hear him talk because he's so big in analytics, and he's a historian when it comes down to diving in deep and going back into history and talking about the evolution of the game."

Do you know who those three guys were? Steve Nash, Jokic, and Dirk Nowitzki. What do those guys have in common? I'll let it sit there and marinate, you think about it," Perkins told Stephen A. Smith.
Perkins then turned to the 2005-06 NBA season when Steve Nash won his second MVP trophy. He says that Kobe Bryant should have won the MVP that season and that Nash did not deserve it.
"Now, here's the thing when it comes down to the MVP conversation and why I say the goalposts moved. It was during the time in 2006 when Steve Nash won his second MVP. When he had a roster full, he didn't have the best record in the league, and Kobe Bryant was averaging 31," Perkins said.
On Tuesday, Redick challenged Perkins for creating narratives and being racist.
"Stephen A, I mean no offense to you, and I mean no offense to First Take because I think this show is extremely valuable, it is an honor to be on this desk every day, it really is," Redick said.
"But what we've just witnessed is the problem with this show. Where we create narratives that do not exist in reality. The implication, what you are implying, is that the white voters that vote on NBA are racist, that they favor white people," added Redick.
