AS Monaco easily overcame Panathinaikos Athens at home. In the process, Mike James overtook one of the all-time EuroLeague greats in an efficiency stat.

Even though the game wasn't the best for him, the Monaco superstar guard scored just enough PIR points to climb past the legendary Dimitris Diamantidis in the all-time index rating leaderboard.

James scored 11 points on 4-for-11 shooting for 8 PIR. Before the game, he was 11th on the list, also behind Real Madrid's Sergio Rodriguez. Now, James has a total PIR of 3808, just above the two veteran guards (Diamantidis has 3806, and Rodriguez has 3804).

It is worth noting that James reached the mark in a significantly smaller amount of games. The American guard did it in 232 games while it took 278 games for Diamantidis and 358 for Rodriguez.

James is averaging 16.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, 4.7 assists, and 1.1 steals per game for 17.2 PIR this season. After the win, Monaco are in the 4th spot in the EuroLeague standings with 17 wins and 10 losses.
