A procedure sometime this month would further delay the possibility of Ball ramping up for a return in the 2023-24 season.
The 25-year-old last played in a 42-point loss to the Golden State Warriors at the United Center on Jan. 15, 2022, where he logged 15 points, two rebounds and three assists in about 23.5 minutes played.
Chicago announced on Jan. 21 that the team is shutting down guard Lonzo Ball for the remainder of the 2022-23 season, as he still feels pain. He has not played a single minute this season.
Pain and discomfort have persisted in Ball's knee following two surgeries at the beginning and end of 2022.
In his first season in Chicago, Ball averaged 13.0 points, 5.4 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 1.8 steals over 35 games.
Lonzo Ball has averaged 11.9 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 6.2 assists in 252 NBA appearances (239 starts).
