With 6:57 remaining in the third quarter of the Nuggets-Spurs game, the duo had to be separated by teammates, officials, and the coaching staffs. Porter threw down a monstrous one-handed dunk on Collins. Then he glared and said something to Collins, who responded by charging at and bumping him from behind.

"I think it was pretty clear, what happened. He got dunked on. My back was turned towards him, you know what I mean? Man, get in my face," Porter said post-game, via Vic Lombardi of Altitude TV.

"They said I put my hand on his neck. But that's a natural reaction. He's lucky he didn't get hit being in my face like that. That's a split-second reaction," Porter added.

The two were nose-to-nose before Porter pushed Collins in the throat.

"I pushed it off. I was ready," Collins emphasized, per the San Antonio Express-News' Nick Talbot. "I pushed the choke away, I was ready."

"He made a good play, he got me at the rim. Then he was just talking, and I didn't like it. So I just went after him," Collins said.

Denver Nuggets guard Jamal Murray also expressed his thoughts on the scuffle.

"I don't know what he got so emotional for," Murray said of Collins, via Tom Orsbron of the Express-News. "He got dunked on and he started yapping. I've never seen anything like that."

The Spurs won the home game 128-120andconcluded insaneNikola Jokic's triple-double win streak.
