After months of having both public and private wars over the situation, the partnership between Andrew Andrews and Panathinaikos Athens is finally over.

According to SDNA, the guard has parted ways with the club. It is noted that the EuroLeague and the EuroLeague Players Association (ELPA) had to step in to solve the dispute.

There was no ruling by EuroLeague at all since the case was never brought to the EuroLeague internal court.

Most (if not all) players turn to ELPA for advice or representation if there is a dispute with the club. In this case, ELPA suggested mediation by EuroLeague, which was successful and brought the two sides together to find a settlement that will satisfy both of them in order for the club and the player to be able to go their separate way.

After the resolution, Andrews is set to receive his full-year salary for the 2022-23 season as well as the amount of the buyout in his contract, which is less than €100,000.

The two sides had been in a conflict in recent months. Contrary to other leagues in Europe, it's not enough for the team to remove the player from the registered players' list. The Greek League requires the player to sign the release papers in order for him to be removed from the roster in the competition. Andrews did not agree, which sparked the conflict between the sides.

Panathinaikos will be able to register an additional player to their roster on the Greek League (ESAKE) as Andrews was previously taking up the 7th foreigner spot on the roster. Head coach Christos Serelis will choose from Matt Thomas or Marius Grigonis.
