"We have another year left on the contract of coach [Sergio] Scariolo, who's guiding us in a very serious and competent way. We're trying to extend the contracts of a few players that we consider key pieces for us - [Milos] Teodosic, [Marco] Belinelli, and [Alessandro] Pajola. We want to keep them as long as we can."
The contracts of both Teodosic and Belinelli are expiring after the 2022-23 season while Pajola's deal continues until the end of the next season with the option to extend it until 2025.
"This will be a very important week for us. We'll face Milan in the domestic league. It's already the fourth time this season that we play against Olimpia but this game is probably going to be the most meaningful one, the executive said. "Milan is living a great moment now and they're in good shape. On our end, we still have a few injuries but we'll go to Milan with great motivation."
With 13 wins and 15 losses, Virtus are currently sharing 11th place in the EuroLeague standings together with Valencia Basket.
