Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade lost against Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade in the ABA League Monday evening. Right after the final whistle, a conflict between Mathias Lessort and Filip Petrusev emerged.

It appears that Petrusev said something to the Partizan center. Moments later, Lessort reacted by shoving the Crvena Zvezda big man. It didn't take long for multiple players to join the scuffle.

Even Partizan's head coach Zeljko Obradovic had to separate the players from getting more involved in the conflict.

The day after the match, Crvena Zvezda released a public statement, pushing the ABA League to take serious action against the Partizan player.

"Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet demands the strictest punishment for the street behavior of Mathias Lessort who attacked the basketball player of Crvena Zvezda and representative of our country, Filip Petrusev, with his fists," the statement reads.

"We didn't say anything after the offensive songs with megaphones and the behavior of some Partizan players last season, the shameful pictures of Lessort with the Serbian national team, and the beating of Facundo Campazzo in Nis. So we guess it's normal that his next step should be a physical attack on some Crvena Zvezda players showing street behavior on the court?" the club writes.

After discussing Obradovic's claims during the Radivoj Korac Cup in Nis last month, where Crvena Zvezda won the trophy, the club continued to advocate for strict punishment toward Lessort.

"The league will have to show its dignity and desire to preserve this competition by suspending Partizan basketball player Mathias Lessort until the end of the season for punching Crvena Zvezda basketball player Filip Petrusev, and not pushing him away as some claim," the club concludes.

After the match, Obradovic apologized for Lessort's behavior during the derby. The team announced that the center will be disciplined according to the procedures agreed by all players.
