Joe Vardon from The Athletic reports that Golden State Warriors and Team USA head coach Kerr talked with Memphis Grizzlies duo Jaren Jackson Jr., Desmond Bane, and Chicago Bulls guard Alex Caruso.
It's unclear whether any of mentioned players committed to taking part in the World Cup.
Jackson Jr. averages 16.8 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 3.1 blocks per game over 50 NBA games this season.
Bane produces 21.3 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game over 45 contests.
Meanwhile, Caruso averages 5.6 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game for the Bulls this season.
On top of that, Vardon reports that two NBA stars with Team USA experience have already committed to play in the World Cup. However, those players have not given their consent for the commitments to be announced.
Team USA managing director Grant Hill confirmed at a news conference on Monday that American pros would not have to commit any time to USA Basketball this summer, at a training camp or playing in the World Cup, to be eligible for the 2024Olympics.
In preparation for the 2023 FIBA Men's World Cup, Team USA will play Slovenia (Aug. 12) and Spain (Aug. 13) in Malaga.
Later, Team USA will host Greece and Germany in the Abu Dhabi exhibition games on Aug. 18 and 20, respectively.
