BasketNews shares its first experience with EuroLeague TV's "The Players' View" feature, which shows great promise.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not here to throw shade at the EuroLeague commentators. But as someone who lives and breathes basketball, I always craved something extra from those voices behind the mic.
I firmly believe that a video should be able to tell its own story. And if you're going to speak over it, you need to give me some juicy insider knowledge that I wouldn't be able to glean from just watching the game itself.
That's why I was thrilled when I first encountered the term "Manningcast" during the EuroLeague Crossover podcast this season.
Marshall Glickman explained how this innovative format involves two retired NFL players who host a live broadcast of an American football game.
Instead of just showing the regular game on your screen, you also get to see these two players on a small screen and listen in on their commentary instead of the usual play-by-play analysis.
Recently, EuroLeague introduced its own version of the Manningcast called "The Players' View," featuring former EuroLeague player Michael Roll (now Paris Basketball) and current Maccabi Tel Aviv big man Jake Cohen.
