Full statement from Klemen Prepelic:
"As you know, I was not included in the lineup for my Club's last game. After the appearance of false and inaccurate information and after a few days of silence, I want to clarify the matter and present my point of view.
First of all, I would like to thank all of you who have shown your support for me in this situation.
I want to make it clear that I have not been suspended by the Club, let alone gotten involved in any incident with any teammate or other member of the Club. In the three seasons that I have been a member of BC Valencia Basket, a Club whose colors I defend with joy and pride, I have not had any problems, let alone incidents with other members of the team.
I have the utmost respect for all of them. I also fully respect the coach's decision not to include me in the lineup for the last game. This is his legitimate decision, and I will continue to carry out all my duties in a professional manner.
I would like to reiterate that there was no incident with any of my teammates, and the decision not to include me in the lineup for the game was the coach's alone. He has the right to do so, and he informed me of his decision before the game.
The account of journalist Villena is, therefore, completely untrue, casts a bad light on me as a player, and ultimately tarnishes the Club, for which I wish nothing but the best. I am surprised that such unverified accounts can even find a place in serious media outlets.
Valencia has been my home for the last three years, and I feel very good here. I love the Club, the fans, and the people I work with. That is why I will continue to do my job with the utmost professionalism," Prepelic wrote.
The 30-year-old Prepelic averages 6.4 points and 2.9 assists over 20 ACB games this season, while his EuroLeague numbers mark 7.1 points and 3.1 assists in 27 matches.
