Even though Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade defeated Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade in the ABA League on Monday, it didn't come without a cost.

ABA League has officially announced that it has suspended Partizan's center Mathias Lessort for 3 games and issued him a €10,000 fine.

It means Lessort will miss the games against Cedevita Ljubljana Olimpija, FMP Belgrade, and Igokea.

ABA League made its decision based on items 1.,3., 4., 5., 7.1., 8., 9., 10., 12., 15., 17., 26.1. and 27.1. of the AdmiralBet ABA League Disciplinary Code.

Based on Article 27.1, the player could receive a suspension between 3 and 15 games.

Crvena Zvezda called for the most serious punishment that the rule allows.

While Lessort himself released an official apology for the incident with Filip Petrusev, the club has announced that the player will be disciplined according to the inner rules that were signed by all players.

Things started getting heated at the very beginning of the fourth quarter when Lessort collapsed on the floor after colliding with Petrusev when the Serbian center was setting a screen.

After several moments on the floor, the French big man started approaching Petrusev and had to be held back by Zach LeDay to avoid further conflict. After review, no sanctions were issued on either player by the referees.

Things took another turn after the final whistle.

It appears that Petrusev said something to the Partizan center. Moments later, Lessort reacted by shoving the Crvena Zvezda big man. After the shove, Lessort went on to hit Petrusev in the face.

It didn't take long for multiple players to join the scuffle. Even Partizan's head coachZeljko Obradovichad to separate the players from getting more involved in the conflict.

The coach called his player's behavior unacceptable and apologized for it in the post-game press conference.

Lessort was named the Week 21 MVP by the league the next day.
