Even though it was initially reported that the club would appeal the decision, the organization's president Ostoja Mijailovic denied it.
"We will not appeal against that penalty because our player made a mistake. That doesn't mean that we should now destroy him, demonize him, [or say] that he has to go to prison because he pushed a player after the game," he told in anhour-long interview with Partizan TV.
"Half of the players should be arrested in the NBA [if that happened]," Mijailovic said. "What did Jokic do last season? He overreacted, both the club and Jokic himself admitted that he was wrong, and it continued."
Jokic pushed Markieff Morris in the back during the November 8th, 2021 game vs the Miami Heat, which caused the Heat forward to miss 4 months of action. After the incident, Jokic was suspended for one game without pay while Morris was fined $50,000 for a flagrant 2 foul.
