Marius Grigonis was registered for the local competition for the first time since October 23rd. After the game, the Lithuanian guard said that everything was in the team's hands playing against the no.1 team in the EuroLeague.

"We played ok today. There were some times when we went our own separate ways but it's way better than it used to be, at least we can be happy about that," he said during the post-game interview with ERT television.

"In these games, everything's about the details. A couple of whistles, a couple of shots or mistakes and you can lose or win the game," Grigonis told. "These games are a battle, and we'll try to put more pressure on Olympiacos in the future."

Asked whether it was the best Panathinaikos game against their eternal rivals, Grigonis took a subtle jab at the former head coach Dejan Radonjic.

"The last time we lost against them, it was by more than 20 points. It's all about the way we played today. We were more of a team today, it's a different vibe in the team. The damage has been done and we have a lot of things to work on and not that much time," he shared. "It is what it is. We can't give up, there are still games left, we have to keep trying."

"We'd need the entire evening to talk about my situation. I'm still in this club and I don't want to talk about it. I don't want to talk about Dejan [Radonjic] and what he said or what he did. It's inside the club," the Lithuanian guard said.

It's been a tough season for Grigonis. First, he was sidelined with a back injury. Then. he only played in the EuroLeague due to the foreign player limit in ESAKE. After Andrew Andrews' departure, he's now back in the Greek League again.

"First, it was the pandemic, then the war happened, now I wasn't playing, then I was playing again, I was with the team, then I was out of the team... it's a challenge. You need to keep your head down, go to practices, do your job every time, stay professional, and smart people will recognize that," Grigonis said.

Even though Panathinaikos are out of the EuroLeague playoff picture, the focus of the team is still centered one game at a time, the player says.

"You have to prepare for the next game every time. Now we have Barcelona. We need to be more as a team, learn to play with each other. I know I sound funny, it's March already but that's our situation, there's nothing to hide," Grigonis joked.

"There are many optimistic things to take away even from today's game. We need to keep building on this day and keep on fighting. It's not promised that we're going to win every game now but we have to keep working. This way, some good things have to happen," the player concluded.
