Now he's playing for his apprentice Sarunas Jasikevicius in FC Barcelona.
Asked to name the differences between them, Kalinic hesitated a little but provided an answer.
"Both of them like to analyze, they love to learn from mistakes, there is a lot of video analysis, meetings, and all those things. They both play switch defense in crucial moments. That's the style of European basketball in the last 20 or 30 years. Is it because of Zeljko? Probably, yes," Kalinic wondered to Sasa Ozmo from SportKlub Srbija. "Giving the ball to the guards when it's the crucial moment of the game, that's a similarity as well. There are many more similarities than differences."
Kalinic wasn't certain whether he will be able to help the Serbian national team this upcoming summer or not, citing nagging injury problems as the main reason.
