With 6 minutes and 33 seconds remaining in the third quarter, Nikola Jokic attempted a layup over Nic Claxton. The Serbian big man missed the shot but his teammate Michael Porter Jr. was there to help.
However, the situation did not pan out as it usually does. Porter Jr. went for a putback dunk and successfully made it but did it over his own teammate's head.
Asked about it after the match, the forward played it down.
"No, I just told him 'on your head, boy'," Porter Jr. told after the game when asked whether he apologized to Jokic.
Porter Jr., Jokic, and Jamal Murray combined for 75 of the team's 108 points on their way to a road win.
"It's tough to guard when all three of us are hooping like that. It was good to come in here and get a road win against a team that's been playing well overall," the forward said. "We needed it for sure."
"My shots are not always going to fall, our team shots are not always going to fall but we have to play defense if we want to win the championship," he concluded.
After the victory, the Nuggets remain at the top of the Western Conference with 48 wins and 24 losses.
