Stating that the new activity program will be re-evaluated according to the negotiations with the clubs, the TBF stated that the amounts of the digital tickets purchased for the relevant competitions would be refunded within 10 days.
Initially, the men's Final Four was going to be held in Konya on February 17-19, while the women's tournament was to be hosted between March 9-11.
But now, the TBF has reportedly decided not to play the 2023 Cup at all. According to TrendBasket, the federation's decision is final, even though the federation had promised to re-evaluate the situation after consultation with the clubs. The main reason behind the decision is the inability to find dates in the schedule, as the four quarter-finals need to be played before the Final Four.
That's the second time in three years that the Turkish Cup isn't being held. The tournament was canceled in 2021 as well due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
