NBA to stream 150+ games from premier pro-am leagues this summer
The NBA today announced that premierpro-am basketball from various leagues – including Drew League,Miami Pro League and AEBL, among others – will stream globally onthe NBA App and NBA.com beginning with the Drew League on Saturday,July 1 at 2:00 p.m. ET.
Fans will have access to unique pro-amcontent, including live games regularly featuring star NBA players,across NBA social and digital platforms. The addition of these toppro-am leagues into NBA App programming builds upon the NBA’sefforts to engage with fans throughout the offseason and widen itsscope of basketball content.
Last summer, the Drew League, nowcelebrating its 50th anniversary, was streamed globally on the NBAApp, marking the first time NBA platforms featured a pro-am league.NBA App coverage of the Drew League was memorably tipped off byLeBron James (Los Angeles Lakers) and DeMar DeRozan (Chicago Bulls)teaming up.
TheMiami ProLeagueandAEBL,both in their10thyear, featured appearances from various NBA playersincluding Donovan Mitchell (Cleveland Cavaliers), Darius Garland(Cleveland Cavaliers), Obi Toppin (New York Knicks), Bam Adebayo(Miami Heat), Jose Alvarado (New Orleans Pelicans) and more.
In addition to the comprehensivecoverage of offseason basketball, the NBA will support pro-amcommunity efforts through the distribution of Jr. NBA kits foryouth basketball players in each local community. As previously announced, all 76 gamesfrom the NBA 2K24 Summer League 2023 in Las Vegas (July 7-17) willair live on television on ESPN networks (ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU andESPNews) or NBA TV and will also be available to stream on the ESPNApp or NBA App.
Games from the 2023 California Classicin Sacramento (July 3 and 5) and 2023 Salt Lake City Summer League(July 3, 5 and 6) will also be televised on ESPN, ESPN2 or NBA TVand will be streamed on the ESPN App or NBA App.
