Panathinaikos Athens will have to face FC Barcelona without Dwayne Bacon and Mateusz Ponitka, head coach Christos Serelis confirmed.

Bacon suffered an ankle sprain during the derby against Olympiacos Piraeus, while Ponitka continues to recover from a right ankle sprain injury he suffered against LDLC Villeurbanne ASVEL.

Derrick Williams also carries a minor injury, but he's expected to play.

"He has a very small injury," Serelis said before the game. "If we were in a different situation, he could rest for some matches. We tried it with PAOK, but it is not easy as we have seen."

"We want to win, but the fact that we have no hope for the playoffs does not make us indifferent.

We approach all games. Resting Williams isn't easy, nor does Lee, who also has an issue. We want to be energetic and win. So, we try to manage. He didn't feel comfortable in all games and played in many matches sacrificing himself," added Serelis.

Bacon averages 17.2 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 12.8 PIR per game over 23 EuroLeague games this season.

Meanwhile, Ponitka contributes with 8.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 13.1 PIR per game.

Panathinaikos will host Barcelona on Thursday at 19:30 CET.
