"I miss my children so much. Sometimes I think of retiring just to be near them," the player shared. "I'm only 27 and I love basketball but it's hard to be here outside the US. When you have children, you also have responsibility. Sure, the money is good, I make more in Europe than some players do in the NBA but family is above all."
The fact that Bacon is no longer with the mother of his children makes it even more difficult, he revealed.
"I'm not saying I'm retiring, I really like it here, it's just that it's hard to be so far away from them. It's not easy for them to get on a plane and come from the other side of the world because I'm not with their mother anymore. I'm not crying but I'm emotionally charged," Bacon opened up. "My mother's arrival here made me think of some things. I see myself in Greece for many years if I keep playing. For me, my children are above money."
Bacon was recently involved in an incident with AS Monaco guard Mike James with the two of them partying until the early morning, which caused issues within the Panathinaikos organization with head coach Christos Serelis ultimately benching Bacon.
So far this season, Bacon has been averaging 17.2 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.7 assists for 12.8 PIR per game in the EuroLeague.
