Payton, who has not played since being acquired by the Warriors due to right adductor rehabilitation, was re-evaluated yesterday. The re-evaluation indicated Gary continues to make good progress.

He has intensified his on-court workouts over the last week and is expected to participate in the team's practice on Saturday. Following Saturday's practice, his status for Sunday's game will be determined.

The 30-year-old Payton played a key role as a defensive stopper for Golden State during last season's title run.

Payton has averaged 4.1 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.5 assists over 15 games with Portland this season.
