"I feel at home. A beautiful feeling inside and outside the arena. Great fans, who are on their feet from the first moment, cheering for their team and for my son. Beautiful evening, I'm delighted," Exum senior told Mozzart Sport after Partizan's 90-75 win over Olympiacos.
Cecil is a former basketball player himself. He was a member of the Tar Heels' 1982 NCAA championship team as a sophomore with future Hall of Fame members James Worthy and Michael Jordan.
The 60-year-old is expected to stay in the Serbian capital next week and watch live two important Partizan games against Spanish powerhouses -- FC Barcelona and Real Madrid.
Cecil Exum believes it's not his first and last visit to Belgrade, as he could see Dante as a Partizan player in the lengthy run.
"I see him as a Partizan player in the long run if the club decides to offer him a new contract," Cecil said of his son. "It's a great environment for him. His family can also come and visit him here. I see that he feels good in Belgrade and the club."
Indeed. Dante Exum is shining in his second EuroLeague season, averaging 13.1 points, 2.4 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 14.4 PIR over 29 games.
