"Since September 14, 2022, the Superior Management Council has repeatedly asked the ASVEL club to send the necessary documents regarding two players' contracts," LNB stated in the press release. "These requests have also been made to the players concerned. These requests were not answered satisfactorily with regard to the requirements of the Superior Management Council."
ASVEL still have the right to appeal this decision to theAppeals Chamber of theFrench BasketballFederation(FFBB).
Both De Colo and Lauvergne have contracts for the 2023-24 season as well, meaning ASVEL will have to find other ways to cover their contracts.
After being withdrawn two victories, ASVEL have a 13-9 record, meaning the reigning French league champions will be in a close battle for a spot in the playoffs.
