"I'm in no hurry to do it but, at one point, I can't deny that I would start working tomorrow. When I watch games, I miss it, but I am also clear that you have to know how to choose the moment and the place. Let it be good for the club and for me," he pointed out in an interview with AS.
Asked about Panathinaikos' reported interest in him, the two-time EuroLeague winner didn'twant to give clues or talk about his possible landing in Athens.
"Things will be known when they must be known," he explained. "I feel a little weird because, since I was sixteen, I've been moving around," he added.
Laso has been rumored for Crvena Zvezda, Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv, the Israeli national team and PAO, but for now, he is dedicating himself to his family.
As for the current situation, he said that "it doesn't surprise me that the EuroLeague is so even. Since there are no Russian teams, the great players that were there have spread out to all the other teams."
Referring to his hometown team, Cazoo Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz, Laso stressed that coach Joan Penarroya is doing a great job and the team is playing good and engaging basketball.
"People leave the Buesa arena happy, even though they have lost a game and that's a good sign," he said.
But the 55-year-old tactician also referred to the progress that the world's top league has made. Laso was asked about the best player in history and while he initially said it's impossible to say because every era is different, he still singled out his all-time favorite player.
"Everyone talks about Michael Jordan but, for example, the one I really fell in love with was John Stockton. The finals that I venerate are those of those years, that's the memory I cherish the most.
But that doesn't mean I don't enjoy watching the modern NBA and players like LeBron James and Steph Curry," he concluded.
