NBA announces Summer League MVP and All-Summer-League teams
The NBA recently announced the top performers at this year's NBASummer League in Las Vegas, headlined by Summer League MVP CamWhitmore of the Houston Rockets.
Whitmore was widely projected to be a top-10 pick entering the2023 NBA Draft, but he ultimately slipped to No. 20 overall.Houston jumped at the chance to add Whitmore to their talentedyoung core.
Whitmore averaged 19.3 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 2.0assists per game and showed plenty of flashes throughout SummerLeague.
The league also announced the All-Summer-League Teams, which canbe found below. (Some of the most recognizable names didn't earn aspot on either team since they were shut down early.)
All-Summer-League First Team:
• Keyonte George, Utah Jazz• Sam Merrill, Cleveland Cavaliers• Orlando Robinson, Miami Heat• Hunter Tyson, Denver Nuggets• Cam Whitmore, Houston Rockets
All-Summer-League Second Team:
•Max Christie, Los Angeles Lakers•Javon Freeman-Liberty,Chicago Bulls•Xavier Moon, Los Angeles Clippers•Emoni Bates, Cleveland Cavaliers•Jabari Smith Jr., Houston Rockets•Jalen Wilson, Brooklyn Nets
Due to a tie in voting between Christie and Moon, both playerswere added to the All-Summer-League Second Team.
