NBA executives don't see Milwaukee Bucks forward Thanasis Anetokounmpo as an NBA-caliber player, according to short research by Gery Woelfel.

In the last two weeks, Woelfel spoke with three NBA officials. He posed a simple question and sought a simple yes or no response.

The question was: "Would Thanasis be on any NBA roster if not for his brother's exalted stature with the Bucks?"

An NBA player personnel director: "No," he responded to Woelfel immediately. An NBA scout: "Let me think about this for a few seconds. (He then paused for about 10 seconds before answering). No." An NBA general manager: "Hey, we know what that's all about. It's all about appeasing Giannis. But to answer your question, no."

In his four-season tenure with Milwaukee, Thanasis has appeared in 162 games.

This season, he's played 35 of the Bucks' 80 games, averaging 0.7 points, 0.9 rebounds, and 0.2 assists over 4.0 minutes of action.

The older brother of the two-time NBA MVP is getting $1.87 million for this season.
