Panathinaikos Athens' loss to Peristeri and the team's overall performance in the last several games was the last straw in the Greens' camp for owner Dimitris Giannakopoulos.

Hence, the 48-year-old businessman decided to take action. As players and staff arrived at OAKA following PAO's sixth loss in the Greek regular season, which tied a negative record dating back to 1997, Giannakopoulos -per several reports- had already been waiting for them.

Per the same reports, the team's owner was furious and tried to shake everyone up ahead of the Greek playoffs. He also asked for some explanations in view of the successive losses that the Greens have suffered - not only in the EuroLeague where they currently rank 16th, but also on the domestic front, where they count four losses over a period of seven weeks and six domestic league games under coach Christos Serelis.

Giannakopoulos made some harsh remarks to the players regarding their latest performances and the string of bad results, holding everyoneaccountable and calling for an immediate turnaround in the days to come.

A couple of hours later, he took to Instagram to call out players for what he perceived as a lack of professionalism.

"Tolerance and leniency are over! There are two roads... Either you lead a life befitting professional athletes and give everything, regardless of results, or you're dealing with me. The choice is yours."

Panathinaikos finished the regular season on a 16-6 record and will face Kolossos Rhodes in the first round of the Greek playoffs.
