Bronny James discharged from hospital after sudden cardiac arrest
After Bronny James suffered a cardiac arrest and collapsed ontothe court during USC's practice on Monday, he was treated by USC'smedical staff and admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
Bronny, LeBron James' oldest son, was initially admitted to theICU, but he was declared stable and moved out of the ICU shortlyafter.
On Tuesday evening, James was discharged from the hospital andhis consulting cardiologist, Dr. Merije Chukumerije, provided anupdate on his status.
"Thanks to the swift and effective response by the USCathletics' medical staff, Bronny James was successfully treated fora sudden cardiac arrest," Dr. Chukumerije said in a statement to The Athletic's ShamsCharania. "He arrived at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center fullyconscious, neurologically intact and stable.
"Mr. James was cared for promptly by highly-trained staff andhas been discharged home, where he is resting. Although his workupwill be ongoing, we are hopeful for his continued progress and areencouraged by his response, resilience, and his family andcommunity support."
The fact that Bronny's hospital stay was so short seems like apositive sign.
Yesterday, LeBron shared the following statement on his Twitteraccount: "I want to thank the countless people sending my familylove and prayers. We feel you and I’m so grateful. Everyone [is]doing great. We have our family together, safe and healthy, and wefeel your love.
