The Lakers erased a 15-point deficit against the Timberwolves, winning the NBA Play-In Tournament game 108-102 after overtime.
"This is what all sports is all about. Getting to April and having an opportunity to play in the postseason," James told TNT after the game. "We were battle-tested all year, and since the break, we played really great basketball. And that's a good ass team, Minnesota, no matter who they have in their lineup."
However, there could have been no overtime. With 1.6 seconds left in the fourth quarter, Dennis Schroder made a 3-pointer, giving the Lakers a 98-95 lead.
Asked about a decision to kick the ball to Dennis Schroder, LeBron gave an indication that it was a no-brainer.
"I've been playing the game like that since I was kid," LeBron said. "Adjure the defense, touch your teammates, and he knocked it down."
However, Anthony Davis made a foul on Mike Conley's 3-point attempt with 0.1 seconds to go, and the game went to overtime.
"It's unfortunate that AD had a brain fart and messed his game-winner up," LeBron added, smiling.
"I messed his game-winner up, I apologize," Davis interrupted the interview. "I definitely apologize."
Meanwhile, Schroder remembered that he was in the same situation earlier in the season. However, the difference is that this time the German international made the shot.
"In the middle of the season, I had the same shot, and I missed it on the same spot," Schroder remembered. "This time, I was very confident, just let it go. He trusted me and made the right read."
The Lakers will face the Memphis Grizzlies in the Western Conference 1st round playoffs series.
