"I think we are all aware that we could have, maybe even easily, entered the top eight. We played well against good teams all season and won. We lost some of the games we won in advance and it cost us in the end," he said ahead of the last-round matchup against Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul.
Meanwhile, head coach Dusko Ivanovic was even more courageous in his remarks.
"I am extremely satisfied with the engagement and dedication with which these guys work. I am not [satisfied] with the result because we did not enter the playoffs, which is a shame for this team. If we had, we would have had a real chance to win [it all]," he told the media. "It is easy to talk now that you're outside [of the playoffs] but so I think."
"I think everyone can see how good, talented, and quality this team is, but there is still some regret. It's okay though, let's move on," Petrusev concluded.
