The Greek club has released a fiery statement on Facebook, condemning the people who performed the acts of violence:
AEK BC expresses its sorrow and disgrace for the shameful images, which did not let us rejoice in our triumphant victory over Hapoel.
The atrocity of hooligans, who caused extensive disasters in our home, exceeded the sickest imagination! These hooligans do not come from the family of the AEK fan movement.
AEK fans are those, who were at Hapoel stadium and did not cause the slightest issue and showed exemplary behavior throughout the match, as has happened in other European venues. AEK fans are those who condemned the few who came to our Stadium to cause harm to our team.
AEK has proven over the years that we are not possessed by any sense of anti-Semitism, and we respect freedom and human rights and have fought against violence, as do our fans.
It is obvious that the provocateurs who hurt us do not want the AEK basketball team to be strong, and are attempting to weaken and discredit the organization - which is highly regarded in Europe - in any way during this season, hurting our Team and the Organization for the second time in 4 months. These provocateurs are not going to defeat us though.
Their destructive fury left debris in a facility, the owner of which was "killed" financially in order to transform it into an indoor basketball venue of international standards, to make it (in collaboration with the EOK) the headquarters of the National Team, to make it one of the favorites to host the 2022-2023 BCL Final Four. That's why the BCL committee was yesterday at the venue for a full-day inspection in order to create conditions for the utilization of outdoor spaces, the results of which will be visible in the next period.

The damage from the devastation? Unimaginable!
These hooligans broke apart what we have been trying to build with personal sacrifices, affection, and love for AEK for a long time, with the same income, in facilities that have been admired for 2 years by friends and opponents.
At the same time, the attitude of these few caused the departure of many families and friendly fans of ours, the real fans of our Team, whom we so struggle to bring together, trying to create a friendly and safe environment.
From the real fans of our team, we ask on behalf of the provocateurs for a big apology! We also apologize to Hapoel's fans for the disturbance caused.
And all this in anticipation of our call from the FIBA sports judge. After publishing any verdict of the sports judge, AEK BC and Mr. Makis Angelopoulos will decide for the next day.
And we repeat it again... These provocateurs are not AEK! They don't know history... They are clueless... They are hoodlums... THIS IS NOT AEK!
They are enemies of AEK... Those of us who are AEK, we will push them out.
The league has already begun an investigation into the matter.
