Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul forward Nemanja Bjelica felt pain in his calf again, as head coach Dimitris Itoudis revealed.

The repetitive pain forced him to miss the last two EuroLeague regular-season games vs. Anadolu Efes and Crvena Zvezda.

"Bjelica suffered a calf injury in the national team [last summer], and the discomfort continued for the following months. So, his injury renewed. We tried to bring him back, but he felt pain again in the same place. We are being very careful. We will see how to recover him," Itoudis said after the 89-91 overtime loss in Belgrade.

The 34-year-old NBA champ has missed a significant time this season, returning to the court in early March.

Bjelica played in just seven EuroLeague games after coming back from the NBA and averaged 2.7 points and 2.1 rebounds over eight minutes.

It is not known how long he will be sidelined this time.

The Serbian player injured his calf during the national team preparations for FIBA EuroBasket 2022. During the long recovery process, he also faced discomfort with the Achilles tendon and sustained several setbacks on his calf.

With Baskonia's loss against Olympiacos on Thursday night, Fenerbahce clinched a spot in the EuroLeague postseason. The Turkish team can now finish the regular season in either 6th, 7th, or 8th place depending on the results in the two remaining games between Partizan and Panathinaikos, and between Bayern and Zalgiris.
