NBA has announced that the Dallas Mavericks have been fined $750,000 following an investigation into the team's decision to rest multiple players before their key game against the Chicago Bulls.

The NBA says Dallas Mavericks have been fined $750,000 after the league opened an investigation into the Mavs' decision to rest several players before last Friday's home game against Chicago Bulls while still mathematically alive for a play-in spot.

No punishment beyond the fine was handed to the Mavericks.

NBA investigation concluded that Dallas violated player resting policy, and "demonstrated through actions and public statements the organization's desire to lose the game in order to improve the chances of keeping its first-round pick in the 2023 NBA Draft."

Friday night was supposed to be the "I feel Slovenia" night, honoring Luka Doncic and his Slovenian fans with numerous of them making a transatlantic flight to see the match. Instead, they got to watch how their idol cheered on the bench while two-way and 10-day players competed on the court.
