The stable functioning of the basketball club Partizan was almost unthinkable until a few years ago. However, the management of the club managed to repay the accumulated debts from the past and, at the end of the current season, put an end to the large inherited debts to players, coaches, agents, employees, and suppliers from the period before 2017.

The first plan to settle past obligations was set up in 2018. Partizan owed money to former players, like Sasa Pavlovic, Predrag Drobnjak and Nikola Pekovic, whom the club thank for giving up on their claims and showing solidarity in tough times.

Over the past five years, the club has paid between €1,000,000 and € 1,500,000 every season in debt reprogramming, including liabilities incurred during the COVID years.

Now, Partizan enter into the implementation of the tax debt repayment plan. The sum to be covered amounts to almost 7,000,000 euros, but with the legal write-off of 50% interest when settling the debt, it could be reduced to about 6,000,000 euros.

At the initiative of over 2,000 fans, supporters, and well-off friends of the team, the Serbian powerhouse is launching the action "We have one Partizan" to solve the last big financial problem.

From 13 May 2023. the club enters into a procedure that will lead to the settlement of the tax debt. For that to happen, Partizan noted in their announcement, it's necessary to gather a sizeable amount as the first installment.

"Although there were some reservations about this kind of fundraising, we decided to accept the suggestion of our fans who come up with this idea from day to day. Therefore, members of the board will be among the first donors and we will all deposit certain amounts into namespace accounts.

In this way, we will set an example for everyone to believe in the initiative of the fans, their love and loyalty that has adorned our club throughout history, " said the club's president, Ostoja Mijailovic.

The accounts for donations intended for the payment of the tax debt of Partizan have already been opened. All funds that are in these accounts cannot be used for anything other than to settle the tax debt.

All donors will be able to find their names on the club's website. Donations will be ranked by the value of payments, and the names of the 1,992 payers of the largest amounts will be engraved as a stamp on the court, where Partizan will play their home games in the 2023-24 season.

The name of the recipient of the largest donation will symbolically bear the number 1992, while the rest will be ranked with numbers 1 – 1991.

For each donor who deposits at least 3,000 dinars (~ €25,6), the club has prepared special T-shirts with the signatures of players and coach Zeljko Obradovic as a sign of gratitude. Also, donors will receive a free membership card with all the corresponding benefits for the standard category.

In this way, the club will repay its benefactors. Also, the biggest individual donor will earn and receive a lifetime spot in the front row and in a designated seat that will bear the number 1,992.

The action will run from 19 April to 13 May, after which date the club will pay the first tranche for the settlement of the tax debt and enter the procedure for its settlement.
