Gilbert Arenas thinks he got nothing to envy from Steph Curry if they were to compare their careers until the age of 25.

In his 14 years in the NBA, Stephen Curry has won four NBA Championships, and two MVPs, while making numerous All-Star and All-NBA teams.

Nevertheless, his early years were marred with injury. His first real success came when he made his first All-NBA team in 2014. And, since then it’s been uphill.

Gilbert Arenas was a fan favorite and performed consistently until the 2006-07 season. What was a great season with the Wizards ended in heartbreak for Arenas after he was injured with just a handful of games remaining. The injury completely derailed the career of the 3-time NBA All-Star, who has recently come out with a bold claim.

The now 41-year-old joined the 'I Am Athlete' podcast recently and in the episode teaser that was dropped on Twitter, he argued that, if not for his injury, he would have been better than Golden State Warriors superstar.

"I got hurt at 25," Arenas recalled.

"So if you stop me at 25, Steph ain't hanging with me. You've got to stop it at 25. At 25, there are no three championships. There's only a one-time All-Star. I’m a three-time All-Star and a three-time All-NBA player by the age of 25.

So, there’s not a lot of us at that age. Allen Iverson was only two times at that age. If you say ever, I’m in the same class as Stephen Curry," the retired player claimed.

Gilbert Arenas'career reached a standstill when he turned 25, as injuries started to take hold. On the other hand, Steph became more or less injury free around the same age, as his career took off.

Arenas was 25 years old during the 2006-07 season and he averaged 28.4 points, 6.0 assists, and 4.6 rebounds.

On the other hand, Curry was 25 years old during the 2013-14 season and he averaged 24.0 points, 8.5 assists, and 4.3 rebounds. Incidentally, this was his first All-Star selection.

Although Arenas might have had better stats at the same age, Curry has won four NBA titles and will certainly be inducted into the NBA Hall of Fame.
