The player underwent an MRI on Monday that revealed an aggravation of the bruising in the soft tissue of his hand. It is the same injury Morant suffered during the last week of the regular season against the Milwaukee Bucks, Tim McMahon from ESPN notes.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski from ESPN, there's little optimism in the team regarding Ja's chances of playing in the game.
"I'm in a good bit of pain," Morant said after the Game 1 loss. "It's tough, especially with everything I've been through pretty much this season. My main focus was to be out there for my guys. Another incident where that's pretty much in jeopardy."
"I'll do anything to be out there for my team. It's pretty much, you know, how much I can tolerate. I feel like I can go out there and be somewhat myself," he continued. "I'll probably play but I don't want to do anything to hurt my team."
Game 2 of the series is scheduled for Wednesday night.
